3D Printing
We create custom components, brackets, mounts, enclosures, prototypes, replacement parts and small production runs.
3Dprint2U turns ideas, broken parts and physical objects into practical digital designs and finished parts. If something's broken, missing or needs making, let's work it out together.
From reproducing a lost component, creating accurate CAD files and prototypes, to developing a completely new solution, or getting your 3D printer back up and running when things go wrong.
We create custom components, brackets, mounts, enclosures, prototypes, replacement parts and small production runs.
We scan existing physical objects to capture their shape for replication, modification, measurement or reverse engineering.
We create, repair or modify 3D models and provide STL and STEP files ready for printing, manufacture or future use.
We can measure, scan and reproduce lost, broken or obsolete parts without needing the original drawing.
We provide practical design and problem-solving for brackets, fixtures, housings, mounts and bespoke mechanical components.
We diagnose and repair broken or unreliable 3D printers, including mechanical, electrical and print-quality problems.

“My Creality K1 SE had developed an extrusion problem, and it turned out the hot end wasn't heating properly either.”
I needed someone who could properly assess the printer and diagnose the issues. The extruder stepper motor had failed, but the hot end also wasn't reaching temperature, so there was more than one issue to resolve.
I took the printer to 3Dprint2U, where the faults were investigated and the parts that needed attention were identified. The replacement components were fitted, and the printer was tested afterwards to make sure it was working again.
It was reassuring to have both problems checked together. The test print gave me confidence that the repair had worked, and I could get back to printing without faults interrupting my workflow.

“I already had the design files for my circuit-board enclosures. I just needed someone to print the parts so I could keep my project moving.”
I sent the files to 3Dprint2U and asked them to print the enclosures and faceplates. I didn't need a new design service for this part of the project; I needed the existing files turned into physical components.
The job included the custom-shaped panels and boxes, with cut-outs and labels that matched the layout in my design. Having the parts printed meant I could move on with assembling and testing the wider prototype without investing in my own printer.
It was a straightforward request, but the details mattered: the enclosure needed to follow the supplied design so the boards, connectors and other components could fit as intended. Getting the physical parts made locally helped me move on to the next stage of the prototype.

“I had a practical problem with the lighting board on my ILCA dinghy trailer, so I designed an adaptor to make the setup work better.”
I worked through the problem, designed the adaptor and made the finished part. Once I was happy with the solution, I made it available to other sailors who might have the same issue.
This is a product I developed myself, rather than a customer job. It shows the same process I can offer other people: understand the problem, design a practical solution and turn it into a finished part. It's a good example of how a real-world issue can lead to a useful, purpose-designed product.

“A small broken component had left our industrial dishwasher out of action, and we couldn't find a replacement to buy.”
With the kitchen relying on the machine, we needed a practical solution quickly. I took the broken part to 3Dprint2U to see whether it could be recreated rather than waiting indefinitely for an unavailable spare.
They used the original part as a reference, recreated the shape and printed a replacement. The new parts were ready the next day, which helped us get the dishwasher back into service for the following day's work.
For us, the value was not just the printed part; it was having someone willing to look at the problem and work out a way forward when the usual replacement route wasn't available. Instead of waiting for a hard-to-source spare, we had a practical alternative to try and minimise disruption in the kitchen.
No complicated process. Tell us what you need and we'll help work out the most practical route.
Photos, measurements, sketches or a digital file.
We'll work out whether scanning, CAD, replication or printing is the best route.
We'll create the required digital model, then print or manufacture the agreed part.
We'll review the result and arrange collection or delivery.
Send over a few details and we'll get back to you to discuss the best way forward.
